History of Amrita Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Parippally
Amrita Sanskrit Higher Secondary School located at the centre of Parippally town,kollam.It is one of the largest schools in kerala which teaches Sanskrit as the first language and it is one of the most famous and well known schools in the district. When the government first introduced higher secondary courses in the private sector in 1992, Amrita Secondary School was the only school which offered Sanskrit as one of the optional languages. The school when started was named as SVMS, was controlled by Amrita Trust headed by Matha Amrithanathamayi Amma and later it was renamed as Amrita Sanskrit Higher Secondary School (ASHSS). The school as SVMS began functioning as a UP school in 1964 and was upgraded as a high school on 1982, along with the accredition as a Sanskrit school.
